The August 1st, 2020 GOP Breakfast
Saturday’s GOP Breakfast (8/1/2020) was a lengthy affair! I’ve cut the videos above from the full event, they are of just my remarks (click on the pictures to view videos). Please Share these and comment if you’d like. I need the feedback!
The ‘We Support Cobb Police’ Event
Another great lunch hour spent showing support for Cobb Police with this group. If you want one of these signs, let me know. They are available for a $20 donation to the PAL.A great side note…I was recognized and became reacquainted with the mom of a young lady I coached in soccer in the spring of 2007 now 22 years old, glad you are doing well Abie! Boy how time flies!
Improvements on the Playground of Legacy Christian School
I spent much of this past week with old friends and new improving the playground for Legacy Christian School in Cobb Co., District 2. Mt. Bethel UMC Handy Helpers and a large group of Teachers, Parents and Students from the school worked together with support from the neighborhood to make this happen. We built a fence designed to reduce the impact of the playground on neighbors, a deck for the kids to play on and reconfigured/repaired some of the playground equipment. That the fence was a requirement of the last Zoning case I oversaw while on the Planning Commission made this project special for me. Plus we had spiral sliced Hot Dogs at the end cooked by my son Michael and a great meal courtesy of my wife Ann. Saturday was a great day! Legacy Christian School, the administrators, teachers, parents and students are a special group of very talented people and I wish them much success in their new location! A huge Thank-you to all of the volunteers that made this happen!

A Great Start!
Sunday I attended the Barbershop Talk with a Cop in Kennesaw. The brainchild of Officer Matthew Meade of the Kennesaw Police and Jimmy Dickens of Amazing Cuts Barbershop. This event gave the community the opportunity to meet, pray with and ask questions of members of the Kennesaw Police and Cobb County Sheriff’s office. Kennesaw Police Chief Bill Westenberger and Cobb County Deputy Sheriff Ryan Mehling as well nearly a dozen other officers and deputies spoke and took questions from the crowd. Mr. Dickens moderated the discussions. It was informative and at times entertaining for the crowd that attended and the event was also broadcast on Facebook Live. Stay tuned and show up for the next Barbershop Talk with a Cop planned in September. To be held again in front of Amazing Cuts at 3055 N. Main Street, Kennesaw.
